6 Weeks Postpartum

Thursday, September 5, 2013

Age: 6 Weeks
Height: 23 1/4 inches
Weight: 10 lbs 4 oz
Milestones: He is awake so much more! He is even smiling sometimes! This is huge for Mr. Stoic
Best Moment: We had a cajun boil for the hubby's birthday on labor day. I had so so so much fun. We swam and had a delicious dinner. It was awesome family time. It was so fun I didn't even take pictures because we were all enjoying ourselves so much. We also had a great trip to SLC this weekend. It was awesome bonding time with the family and if you want to see pictures from that trip click here.
Worst Moment: I might take this out because we really don't have horrible moments. There are nights he won't sleep but they're not exactly what I would consider the "worst moment" There are always things that could be horrible and it seems foolish to sweat the small stuff.
Health: He's awesome! He went through a little growth spurt and was eating so much and now I feel like he is hardly eating at all.
Eating: He's eating great and finally starting to get a little pudge. We're also getting the hang of eating in public. He just latches on like nobodies business.
Extra comments: Sister is such a big help still. She's still not bored of him and treats him like he is her baby :)

You can almost see his rare smile here!

"Try and make me do tummy time. Do it." He flips over so fast that I can't even leave him alone if I want him to do tummy time because he just rolls over.

His little hair is falling out and growing back at the same time. It's still so soft and the sides are staying in strong haha

He's so fast when he's rolling over! It's all about the momentum and the little tongue out :)

My little turtle boy

He'll even pull himself were he wants to go! I kept scooting back while I was trying to take pictures of this speedy little thing

Aren't you going to hold me?

I'll come to you.

Mom! I'm hungry, again!

We went to Mema and Papa's this week and this is Logans cousin helping watch him while I helped with billing. He told his dad that we wanted to dress handsome for when Logan came over to play. How cute is that?!

Logan is into drawing. Like really really into drawing. She drew a siamese twin this week and on the back was a pregnant mommy haha She's such a good drawer, you should see her monsters!

Logan was going to her dads while we went to SLC but she was helping me pack and we found some baseball hats

I can not say enough how much I love my husband. He is so amazing to us. It's his birthday this month and our anniversary so it's a special month to appreciate him. It's also Lo's birthday this month. Who's ready for the cutest swim party ever?!

This week before we left for SLC I worked my buns off but then we ate at places like Mimi's Cafe and Cheesecake Factory. 'Nuff said.

How are you feeling? Good. I do wish that I at least lost an oz this week but that didn't happen. Oh well, this week will be different! Let's shoot for 135 buy the end. That's 2.6 lbs but I think it's 100% possible if I really work at it this week!

Foster Brady: 1 Month

Saturday, August 24, 2013

Age: 1 Month
Height: 22 inches
Weight: 8 lbs 4 oz
Milestones: These count as milestones...right?
Best Moment: We really do all have so much fun together. I really wish he would start smiling and giggling but he is Mr. Serious. He loves being loved on and eating.
Worst Moment: We still haven't had any bad moments but today I had to set him down even though he wasn't napping and it wasn't tummy time because I had things I needed to get done. It broke my heart listening to him cry but I would go over calm him down and hurry to get what I needed done. Every time I calmed him down he looked at me like I was the biggest meany ever and like I broke his heart and that broke mine.
Health: He's gained the 4 oz he lost last week so that must be good!
Eating: He eats all the time. He just loves it but, hey, so do I so how can I judge his cute little face?
Extra comments: Sister is starting to get a bit jealous of all the love that Foster is getting. We still have special time and we still love on her a ton but she doesn't think it's enough. We are going to have to think of extra special things to do with her. Any ideas?
This is how I have had to get ready the past couple days. With dad wor

Maternity Session

Sunday, August 11, 2013

Yes, yes, I know that I have already had Foster but here is our maternity/family session! Huge thanks to Shutterfreek, they're amazing!

Foster Brady's First Newborn Shoot

Saturday, August 10, 2013

I have not wanted to set my baby down for more than a minute since he has been born. So a full newborn session was out of the question because even for this little "mini shoot" we did I kept holding him and he just wanted me to hold him ;) so we cut it short. BUT! we did get a couple simple ones which are my favorite anyways. He's so handsome he doesn't need all the bells and whistles. It's amazing to me just how perfect he is in every way.

2 Week PP Update!

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

I can't believe it's already been two weeks! He is getting so big and you can definitely tell in his face. He is awake a lot more and loves looking around at the world. Our big boy also rolled over today! I think it's because he's a little top heavy but I keep telling myself it's because he's a big boy! He's been smiling a lot more...not at anything in particular but besides his dad it's the most handsome smile I have ever seen!

More Details

39 Weeks, It's Been Real.

Sunday, July 21, 2013

Well everyone, it's the end of the road. This week marks the last of my Dr's appts (Tuesday) and the last of being pregnant (Thursday)! Tuesday we'll decide if I'm going to be induced on Thursday! I really didn't want to be induced because I was with Logan and I wanted to see the difference BUT my family is all going out of town on the first to go to my aunts wedding. The choice wasn't hard, have them here or be worried they were going to miss it.  So crazy that it went so fast! I should say fast besides this week. When my Dr said he didn't think I'd make it to my next appointment each and every day has drug on and on and on and...well you get the point. Yet, here we are one, more week in!
Let me give you a little update on where we're at right now, to do that we need to take a step back to Tuesday (insert time warp music here) On Tuesday I had a Dr appt where he checked me and I was at 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced, since I was further along than the week prior I had my membranes stripped thinking I would go into labor asap, no such luck. On the bright side of not going into labor I won the bet against my hubby! He was sure we would have our little man by the 19 and I was a little more on the skeptical side. Today's the 21st and guess who's getting sushi!!! After I have him of course.
Also this week we went on our Due Date Date! We went to dinner and had yummy (cooked) sushi and some frozen yogurt then came home and spent the night watching movies :)

38 Weeks! The Final Countdown!

Sunday, July 14, 2013

Not much to update everyone on today. My appt is Tuesday and I'll have more info then :)

37 Weeks and FULL TERM!

Tuesday, July 9, 2013

Full term for me means 20+ braxton hicks a day and impatience. Now that little Foster is considered full term and is just getting chunky I am ready for my boy to be here! Throughout this pregnancy I haven't been too uncomfortable and have been enjoying pregnancy as much as I can but these past four days I have been so sick and uncomfortable that I am ready for it to be over! The other day he was moving so much that I wasn't sure if he was even head down anymore! (He is) I wanted to wait until today to do my update because I got checked to see if I was dilated today anddddd *drum roll please* I AM! Not anything super exciting but I am a little over 1 centimeter dilated and he can feel his head! WOOT WOOT! He's pretty positive I'll at least make it to next week though, but still, a girl can hope. I wanted him to strip my membranes but I'm measuring small so he wants me to last longer. Now onto my update!

This is my actual 37 week picture

This is today, 37wk +2 days with 19 days to go!

What to Pack in Your Hospital Bag

Thursday, July 4, 2013

If you're here from The Bump, Welcome! I am so glad that you made it on over to my humble little blog! This is my new #1 most read blog post with What to Pack in Your Babies Hospital Bag a close second and Birth Plan: To Have or Not to Have following up in third. If you have any questions or have found certain things that worked best for you feel free to comment and let me know!

I did it! I finally packed my hospital bag! At 36, almost 37 weeks I am happy to say if Foster came tonight we could make do :) No, the nursery isn't done but I'm hoping to have that done within the next week. My glider should also be in within the next week (We got one in but it was cracked :( )

I wish I could let you feel the sense of calm I have over me that I have had since getting everything done. I feel amazing. I don't feel like I have anything to worry about and even the nervousness I was feeling about labor I am not feeling at all. I am looking forward to this amazing experience that I get to go through with the love of my life. As much as I can't wait for my little family of three to become a family of four I'm thoroughly enjoying this huge curtain of love that is over our household.

Now with my little hormonal post out of the way I can get onto what you all came here for! My hospital bag! This is also my hubby's hospital bag and with the extra room that you'll get from using a bigger bag if you receive anything from the hospital (which you will, be sure to take everything home! You're paying for it anyways!) you can easily put it in the bag and make less for your hubby to carry out to the car ;)

Also, please note some things for me are packed in babies hospital bag because they will be in the diaper bag normally so it seems silly to move them back and forth. You can find that post here.

36 Weeks! One Month Left!

Saturday, June 29, 2013

Maybe next week I'll actually have a good picture instead of a bad phone one

How far along? 36 weeks

35 Weeks!

Sunday, June 23, 2013

35 weeks! That's crazy! It does seem like time is starting to go slower when in the middle of the pregnancy when time flew by. I'm getting so anxious to meet my little man and I know daddy and sister feel the exact same way. Logan doesn't think he's ever going to come. I think he's going to come a lot sooner than she thinks! 5 weeks isn't long at all! and there's still so much to be done before the little guy gets here. Thankfully if he does make is debut early he at least has a crib and his hospital bag is packed :)

34 Weeks!

Sunday, June 16, 2013

Omigosh! Are there really only 3-6 weeks left in this pregnancy?! Time has flown by and I have nothing done! How's the nursery looking you ask? Oh you know, just covered in baby stuff. But the crib's up, right? What is this 'crib' you speak of and do we really need one? Well, at least if you go into labor your bags are all packed. Bags? Oh, you mean the ones you bring to the hospital when you have the baby! Try no, not even close.
We are in desperate need of a Target shopping trip and a kick in the rear! I just have felt like there is so much time left and in reality we're getting down to the nitty gritty here!

Quick Checklist of Everything...I don't have done:
Nursery Done
Bags Packed
Crib Skirt Made
Valance Made
Pillows Made
Chair Up
Comforter Made
House Ready
{Add everything else I don't have done here}

It's ok :) Knowing us we'll get it done last minute

How far along? 34 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: -5lbs
Maternity clothes? Jeans- always. Everything else it just depends on the day

Stretch marks? Nope.
Best moment this week: I had an amazing Baby Shower yesterday! It was awesome getting to see everyone together. It was just perfect
Miss anything: MOTIVATION! Really though, where did it go?
Movement: Tons and tons. He get's the hiccups daily and he has regular squirm sessions
Food cravings: No, just hungrier
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Definitely
  Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? Out!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy. I've had a lot of alone time this week so Foster and I have had a ton of little bonding sessions. It's amazing how much I already love this little man and just laying down getting in sync with my body is really an amazing feeling
Looking forward to: Dr. Appt tuesday! I find out if I'm dilated at all and see if I'll get cleared for travel. Either WY or Portalas. He'll probably say no but I really hope he give me the 100% safe go ahead because I really want to see my new nephew or go see my aunt!

Had to make a quick trip to the hospital this week (not my idea) I was having a hard time keeping anything down for a week, including water, and was starting to get horrible consistent stomach aches and headaches. I originally called my Dr. to see if I could get some nausea medicine but when I explained what was going on he had to go to the hospital immediately to have tests run and baby monitored. It turns out it was probably a good thing I went in because by the end of it my blood pressure was 99/51 and my blood sugar was low. I got two bags of sugar basically and was sent home. Since then I wasn't sick one time and felt 100 times better the next day.

Now it's time to get ready for a Fathers Day dinner! I haven't seen my husband in 6 days and he goes to work tomorrow. I can't wait to see him tonight!

That's about it! Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Baby Shower: F-town Edition

Saturday, June 15, 2013

Today I was so blessed to be able to spend the day with family and friends celebrating this precious little life inside me. Before I even get started on the details I just want to say how truly amazing and humbling it is to have so many loving people surround me.

This morning I had an incredible shower hosted by my lovely sisters and mom for my in town family. We had a delicious brunch on my parents back yard and the weather was perfect!

Foster Brady Ballard

Yummy quiches made by my mom, Gram and Mema

My little brother Gavin!

Jeter!

Cupcakes that looked delicious but that I never got around to trying. I was waiting for Logan to lick off the frosting and bring me the rest but I think she was to busy playing to eat one either!

Name tag/thank you card station- We mustache you to write your address on thank you cards...

Baking more quiches! They were seriously delicious, I'm going to need the recipes! Or maybe not because I might sit down and eat a whole one myself!

This little stinker was not in a picture mood!

Tegan tried to sneak some pictures of Logan for me :)

No one else but her was drinking out of the mustache straws right (according to none other than her)

I can't even handle the coolness of this kid...

Guess who got spoiled again?

My mom telling a very animated story

Foster's going to look just like his daddy!

Another precious handmade quilt from Grandma Pat!

Instagram session!

It's perfect!

Another adorable handmade blanket from Aunt Vanita! This baby is spoiled rotten already!

Tyne and Tegan informed me I have a very serious face when reading cards. I informed them I was blind and having a hard time reading them!

I'm the biggest creep...

Logan loved the By-Your-Side-Sleeper because then she still gets to use the crib mattress in our room because Foster won't need it

Another Instagram session

And yes, this is yet another instagram session

Seriously though, for all of you that know Bryson, Foster is going to be dressed EXACTLY like his daddy!

Just for Tyne, this is me saying "onsie" in the biggest baby voice possible

Thank you Mema. How did you know that exactly what we needed was yet ANOTHER microphone in the house?

My lovely hostesses and I

Let's play Spot The Girl Who Doesn't Want To Take Pictures

Let's start a tradition where we all take pictures at the beginning of the day rather than the end so we don't look exhausted haha

Again I just want to say thank you to everyone not only for coming and the amazing gifts (SLC family also) but for being so loving and supporting through this whole amazing experience. We really couldn't have done it without every single one of you.
