6 Weeks Postpartum

Thursday, September 5, 2013

Age: 6 Weeks
Height: 23 1/4 inches
Weight: 10 lbs 4 oz
Milestones: He is awake so much more! He is even smiling sometimes! This is huge for Mr. Stoic
Best Moment: We had a cajun boil for the hubby's birthday on labor day. I had so so so much fun. We swam and had a delicious dinner. It was awesome family time. It was so fun I didn't even take pictures because we were all enjoying ourselves so much. We also had a great trip to SLC this weekend. It was awesome bonding time with the family and if you want to see pictures from that trip click here.
Worst Moment: I might take this out because we really don't have horrible moments. There are nights he won't sleep but they're not exactly what I would consider the "worst moment" There are always things that could be horrible and it seems foolish to sweat the small stuff.
Health: He's awesome! He went through a little growth spurt and was eating so much and now I feel like he is hardly eating at all.
Eating: He's eating great and finally starting to get a little pudge. We're also getting the hang of eating in public. He just latches on like nobodies business.
Extra comments: Sister is such a big help still. She's still not bored of him and treats him like he is her baby :)

You can almost see his rare smile here!

"Try and make me do tummy time. Do it." He flips over so fast that I can't even leave him alone if I want him to do tummy time because he just rolls over.

His little hair is falling out and growing back at the same time. It's still so soft and the sides are staying in strong haha

He's so fast when he's rolling over! It's all about the momentum and the little tongue out :)

My little turtle boy

He'll even pull himself were he wants to go! I kept scooting back while I was trying to take pictures of this speedy little thing

Aren't you going to hold me?

I'll come to you.

Mom! I'm hungry, again!

We went to Mema and Papa's this week and this is Logans cousin helping watch him while I helped with billing. He told his dad that we wanted to dress handsome for when Logan came over to play. How cute is that?!

Logan is into drawing. Like really really into drawing. She drew a siamese twin this week and on the back was a pregnant mommy haha She's such a good drawer, you should see her monsters!

Logan was going to her dads while we went to SLC but she was helping me pack and we found some baseball hats

I can not say enough how much I love my husband. He is so amazing to us. It's his birthday this month and our anniversary so it's a special month to appreciate him. It's also Lo's birthday this month. Who's ready for the cutest swim party ever?!

This week before we left for SLC I worked my buns off but then we ate at places like Mimi's Cafe and Cheesecake Factory. 'Nuff said.

Foster Brady: 1 Month

Saturday, August 24, 2013

Age: 1 Month
Height: 22 inches
Weight: 8 lbs 4 oz
Milestones: These count as milestones...right?
Best Moment: We really do all have so much fun together. I really wish he would start smiling and giggling but he is Mr. Serious. He loves being loved on and eating.
Worst Moment: We still haven't had any bad moments but today I had to set him down even though he wasn't napping and it wasn't tummy time because I had things I needed to get done. It broke my heart listening to him cry but I would go over calm him down and hurry to get what I needed done. Every time I calmed him down he looked at me like I was the biggest meany ever and like I broke his heart and that broke mine.
Health: He's gained the 4 oz he lost last week so that must be good!
Eating: He eats all the time. He just loves it but, hey, so do I so how can I judge his cute little face?
Extra comments: Sister is starting to get a bit jealous of all the love that Foster is getting. We still have special time and we still love on her a ton but she doesn't think it's enough. We are going to have to think of extra special things to do with her. Any ideas?
This is how I have had to get ready the past couple days. With dad wor

3 Weeks PP!

Saturday, August 17, 2013

My little guy is 3 weeks! It's amazing that almost a month has gone by! Foster is so spoiled rotten and I'm starting to notice a little...but I just love holding him! I'm getting ok at feeding him and doing other things and we're starting to transition him into his own bed, ask me how that's going next week haha. So far my little squirm worm has been incredible I just wish he wouldn't look at us like we're dumb all the time! ;)

Age: 3 Weeks
Height: 21 inches
Weight: 8 lbs 0 oz, a little loss this week
Milestones: He is definitely rolling over. I thought it was a fluke thing last week but every time I set him on his tummy he rolls to his back. This makes tummy time a little difficult but we're figuring it out as we go! He has also been sleeping in his crib about 70%-80% of the night which is awesome for me. I'm catching up on the sleep I have been missing!
Best Moment: I love bath time with him. He gets so relaxed and he just seems so peaceful. He loves the sound of running water whenever I'm in the shower too. I just set him in a little portable crib in there and he just plays or falls asleep. He has been awake so much more that it is so  much fun to try and play with him and get his attention but it is pretty hard to get things done around the house.
Worst Moment: Sometimes at night he knows he's hungry so he'll be screaming but he's also tired so he won't open his eyes or mouth to eat. Some nights it takes us 40+ minutes just to latch on. It can be a little frustrating.
Health: He's growing great. He is really low on the percentile chart for height and weight which I am not used to because while he is 3%-10% his sister was always in the 90%-97% range. For him though, he is growing great.
Eating: He LOVES to eat. I was shocked when he lost weight because he will eat and eat and eat. We're trying to space out eating just a little bit but it's not going to good haha
Extra comments: I have loved all the quality time I am getting while being home with him 24/7. One thing I did forget about babies is how dirty you get! Not him, ME! I am so gross all the time. I can shower 4 times a day (not that I do, it's hard to squeeze 1 in sometimes) but you get what I'm saying. I'm always covered in spit up, pee, poop, spit, snot....it's just yucky. But the kind of yucky you love.

2 Week PP Update!

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

I can't believe it's already been two weeks! He is getting so big and you can definitely tell in his face. He is awake a lot more and loves looking around at the world. Our big boy also rolled over today! I think it's because he's a little top heavy but I keep telling myself it's because he's a big boy! He's been smiling a lot more...not at anything in particular but besides his dad it's the most handsome smile I have ever seen!
