One Week PP Update

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

I can't believe it's already been a week since we brought my little man home! I've tried to write my birth story but I don't know how to put it into words and I haven't wanted to set him down for more than a minute. But let me tell you a bit about him from the hospital since I haven't written that post yet.... Foster Brady was born at 1:13 PM on July 24, 2013 after I was induced at 7:10 AM for blood pressure reasons. He weighed 6lbs 11 oz and was 20 inches long :) Now that we are all on the same page, here is his (our) one week update!

Logan's Birth Story

Sunday, July 21, 2013

On September 17, 2009 I had my last Dr appointment for my little girl. I was 4 days away from my due date and more than ready to be finished with pregnancy. The Dr. checked me and I was 3cm dilated and 90% effaced. We set an induction date for a day after my due date, September 22, 2009. We were supposed to call at 5 am to make sure there was room and I had gotten absolutely no sleep because I was so anxious to meet my little girl. After getting everything loaded into the car we called the hospital and they wanted us to wait to come in until 6. As anxious as we were to leave we left right away anyways and made a slow Starbucks run. After getting to the hospital and getting all checked in I had an iv started. Four hours later they started the Pitocin.

39 Weeks, It's Been Real.

Well everyone, it's the end of the road. This week marks the last of my Dr's appts (Tuesday) and the last of being pregnant (Thursday)! Tuesday we'll decide if I'm going to be induced on Thursday! I really didn't want to be induced because I was with Logan and I wanted to see the difference BUT my family is all going out of town on the first to go to my aunts wedding. The choice wasn't hard, have them here or be worried they were going to miss it.  So crazy that it went so fast! I should say fast besides this week. When my Dr said he didn't think I'd make it to my next appointment each and every day has drug on and on and on and...well you get the point. Yet, here we are one, more week in!
Let me give you a little update on where we're at right now, to do that we need to take a step back to Tuesday (insert time warp music here) On Tuesday I had a Dr appt where he checked me and I was at 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced, since I was further along than the week prior I had my membranes stripped thinking I would go into labor asap, no such luck. On the bright side of not going into labor I won the bet against my hubby! He was sure we would have our little man by the 19 and I was a little more on the skeptical side. Today's the 21st and guess who's getting sushi!!! After I have him of course.
Also this week we went on our Due Date Date! We went to dinner and had yummy (cooked) sushi and some frozen yogurt then came home and spent the night watching movies :)

38 Weeks! The Final Countdown!

Sunday, July 14, 2013

Not much to update everyone on today. My appt is Tuesday and I'll have more info then :)

37 Weeks and FULL TERM!

Tuesday, July 9, 2013

Full term for me means 20+ braxton hicks a day and impatience. Now that little Foster is considered full term and is just getting chunky I am ready for my boy to be here! Throughout this pregnancy I haven't been too uncomfortable and have been enjoying pregnancy as much as I can but these past four days I have been so sick and uncomfortable that I am ready for it to be over! The other day he was moving so much that I wasn't sure if he was even head down anymore! (He is) I wanted to wait until today to do my update because I got checked to see if I was dilated today anddddd *drum roll please* I AM! Not anything super exciting but I am a little over 1 centimeter dilated and he can feel his head! WOOT WOOT! He's pretty positive I'll at least make it to next week though, but still, a girl can hope. I wanted him to strip my membranes but I'm measuring small so he wants me to last longer. Now onto my update!

This is my actual 37 week picture

This is today, 37wk +2 days with 19 days to go!

What to Pack in Your Hospital Bag

Thursday, July 4, 2013

If you're here from The Bump, Welcome! I am so glad that you made it on over to my humble little blog! This is my new #1 most read blog post with What to Pack in Your Babies Hospital Bag a close second and Birth Plan: To Have or Not to Have following up in third. If you have any questions or have found certain things that worked best for you feel free to comment and let me know!

I did it! I finally packed my hospital bag! At 36, almost 37 weeks I am happy to say if Foster came tonight we could make do :) No, the nursery isn't done but I'm hoping to have that done within the next week. My glider should also be in within the next week (We got one in but it was cracked :( )

I wish I could let you feel the sense of calm I have over me that I have had since getting everything done. I feel amazing. I don't feel like I have anything to worry about and even the nervousness I was feeling about labor I am not feeling at all. I am looking forward to this amazing experience that I get to go through with the love of my life. As much as I can't wait for my little family of three to become a family of four I'm thoroughly enjoying this huge curtain of love that is over our household.

Now with my little hormonal post out of the way I can get onto what you all came here for! My hospital bag! This is also my hubby's hospital bag and with the extra room that you'll get from using a bigger bag if you receive anything from the hospital (which you will, be sure to take everything home! You're paying for it anyways!) you can easily put it in the bag and make less for your hubby to carry out to the car ;)

Also, please note some things for me are packed in babies hospital bag because they will be in the diaper bag normally so it seems silly to move them back and forth. You can find that post here.

Watermelon Ice Pops

Monday, July 1, 2013

Summer is definitely here! Since it's over one hundred degrees here every day we reach for otter pops and popsicles like nobodies business. Have you actually looked at the ingredients in any of those things? I couldn't understand over half of them. I'm getting to the point where if I don't know what it is should I really be giving it to my kids? Probably not. So yesterday Logan and I made Watermelon Pops! They are sooooo yummy! It's a plus that they are so cute! With the Fourth of July right around the corner these are perfect for your family cookout!
