One Week PP Update

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

I can't believe it's already been a week since we brought my little man home! I've tried to write my birth story but I don't know how to put it into words and I haven't wanted to set him down for more than a minute. But let me tell you a bit about him from the hospital since I haven't written that post yet.... Foster Brady was born at 1:13 PM on July 24, 2013 after I was induced at 7:10 AM for blood pressure reasons. He weighed 6lbs 11 oz and was 20 inches long :) Now that we are all on the same page, here is his (our) one week update!

Age: 1 week
Height: 20 1/2 inches
Weight: 6 lbs 11.5 oz
Milestones: Being born! haha this week we have mastered breast feeding but have not yet been able to conquer keeping the pee in the diaper. He needs a little more meat on his bones before the diaper will stay on right
Best Moment: I love every single moment of every day with him. He is an amazing baby. He rarely cries and sleeps amazingly. Some nights he wakes up every hour and others he sleeps for 5 in a row! Either way I love getting that special bonding time with him.
Worst Moment: Honestly, we haven't had a bad moment at all! He's been incredible and we have had an amazing transition into home life.
Health: He's growing amazing! When we left the hospital he was down to 6 lbs 6 oz and now he is past his birth weight and growing big and strong!
Eating: He's doing awesome. It was one of my biggest fears with him because I had such a hard time with his sister but he is so patient and we are mastering it together!
Teeth: Not yet, and I am definitely glad for that!
Extra comments: This whole transitional phase with him has been so perfect and he is an amazing baby. He loves being cuddled and loves looking around at the world. He doesn't cry for more that a couple seconds (he's also not set down for more than a couple seconds) and we all love him so much.

First day he was born!

Day 2 of being in the world!

Our first night home. Our poor boy sneezes so much!

He loves morning snuggles with mommy

We made a trip to see daddy at the fire station but they were on a call so we got even more cuddle time!

He lovesssss to sleep

He had a little bit of jaundice so he had a little sun bath!

After his first real bath (post to come) He was so smooth and his hair was so fuzzy!

We have loads of snuggle time!

This was day one from being home from the hospital. I lost 8 lbs after being in the hospital and I think I'm going to start doing stats and update to hold myself accountable. I'm going to start with simple workouts like walking and yoga and eventually work my way up. I don't have a certain number I want to see on the scale but I'd love to be in the 120's or a dress size 4/6. I know if I do updates I'll push myself harder and keep up with it. Since my milk is coming in I am eating a ton more and constantly feel hungry. I'm just going with what my body is telling me and will concentrate on weight loss later.

Pre Pregnancy Weight: 158 lbs
End of Pregnancy Weight: 156 lbs, -2 lbs
Current Weight: 148, -8 lbs
Total Weight Loss: -10 lbs
How are you feeling? I am feeling really great about my pp body. I feel healthy and motivated. I feel so empowered about my body knowing that I carried and birthed my boy naturally. I haven't felt this good about myself in years.

I'm really not sure what else to measure haha has anyone on here done a postpartum update? If so feel free to comment your blog address!

Pre Pregnancy Weight: 158 lbs
End of Pregnancy Weight: 156 lbs, -2 lbs
Last Weigh In: 148, -8 lbs
Current Weight: 141.6, -6.4 lbs
Total Weight Loss: -16.4 lbs
How are you feeling? Incredible! bfing has been going great and I am fitting in my pre pregnancy clothes (the tops on the top are a little tight if you get my drift) Everything is still mushy but it's already gone down so much. I feel a little lopsided too. I think a trip to the chiropractor may be in order.
