I am NOT a Pinterest Mom

Sunday, December 8, 2013

My sweet, handsome, little man fell asleep harder than usual yesterday so I sat him on our soft blanket, slid a little Santa hat on him and did what any sane mother would; I tried to shove his sweet, sleeping body into his monogrammed stocking.

However, as I was sliding his little pudgy body into the stocking I ran into a small dilemma....or should I say a big dilemma.

His thighs.

Looking at him he looks so tiny. I hadn't considered running into a problem. I am sitting there frantic wondering what to do, I knew he wouldn't be asleep for long. So I did the next logical thing and just laid it on top of him. Only to discover another problem I, again, had not anticipated.

You could see his tummy out of the sides!

What?! Not my tiny baby? How could this be?

Pinterest had not prepared me for this.

It looked so simple - stick the baby in the stocking, baby holds the top of the stocking and looks adorable, click, you're finished.

Well, ladies, Pinterest is a big, heaping pile of lies. Baby does not fit in stocking, baby will not even hold stocking, not to mention baby is starting to wiggle and is going to wake up soon and inevitably be hungry.

According to Pinterest this is all ok because any Pinterest mom would have anticipated this deep slumber and dressed their baby in the most adorable Christmas onsie so even if baby didn't fit into the monogrammed stocking it would still all be ok.

I am not a Pinterest mom. Foster was wearing his comfy onsie with the cute puppy on it that has not one thing to do with Christmas.

You know what? Oh well. I am not a Pinterest mom but my son is just adorable enough that it's all ok because look at those thick lashes and full lips. How about that adorable little nose and the cute dimples on his cheeks.

I love his chunky thighs that won't fit into the stocking and his tummy that hangs out of it.

I love that he sleeps with his hands up instead of hanging onto the stocking so perfectly.

But most of all,
I love him.

I laughed out loud reading this when I got to the part about his thighs!! Olivia's thighs never chunked up, which was such a bummer to me - so enjoy those chunky thighs, stockings or no!
