Halloween at Our House [After Thanksgiving]

Sunday, December 1, 2013

I love Halloween. I'm not sure if it's the leaves, the smells, the pumpkins, the movies, the crafts or the dressing up but I love it! We make it an all day family event and this year was extra special because it was Fosters first Halloween and it was the first year that Lo touched the pumpkin guts WAHOO! ;)

So my daughter can be kinda creepy....

But she also has a sweet princess side. She picked out her own costume this year and she LOVED it! She even got to wear it to school on wednesday!

I thought I'd show you a couple of my decorations...that I may or may not have had up for over a month...they also may stay up until Thanksgiving...I don't know....your guess is as good as mine.

My cute littles with their punkins

Halloween leggings for halloween day so we don't ruin our costumes

She drew on her pumpkin the first day she got it so we just cut around it :)

We made little bats out of egg cartons! Next time I'll use paint instead of marker but it was still fun :)

It was Fosters first halloween so he had to try the pumpkin guts!

He didn't notice it at first...

Noticing it...What's the best way to see if this stuff is safe?

By eating it, of course!

And it's a winner! He would not let me take it away from him afterwards

This was sisters first time touching the guts...she was not impressed

Dad with the kiddos

We were obviously in halloween craft/music/movie mood and did not want to focus on pictures haha

Ready for trick or treating!

Our finished pumpkins :) This year I thought we'd get small ones and it'd be so much easier, WRONG! The weren't ripe yet so they were so hard to degut (that's a word right?) and hard to cut. They did have a ton of seeds though so we had yummy roasted pumpkin seeds!

Rinse and dry pumpkin seeds and coat with olive oil and a little butter. Season with sea salt, parsley, paprika and chili powder. Bake at 300 for 40-60 minutes or until brown. Stir occasionally.

Subtle halloween makeup this year. I thought about doing the chelsea smile but I hadn't eaten yet and, well yea. Food won.

We went on a hay ride around a cemetery

and stood in big bubbles

I was a total mom failure and didn't take ONE picture of Fosters first halloween because he was sleeping the whole time. Luckily my mom took one. So here is Fosters only picture of his first halloween

He's our little superman!
