What I {Ate} Wednesday

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

Yesterday all I managed to keep down was 1/4 cup of chicken noodle soup juice, two crackers and a piece of burnt-Bryson say's I can't call my toast "toast" anymore because I burn it, not toast it. In honor of feeling better, and it being Wednesday, I thought I would share some of my normal food picks from last month. I haven't been cooking because I have felt completely awful these past four months so food at our house has been boring. I am 15 weeks now and slowwwwllllyyyy starting to feel better, so I'm sure there will be more yummy meals and recipes in the future.

Dry toast is a pretty regular breakfast for me. I always have carbs in the morning to fuel the first part of the day.

If I am feeling fancy here is a breakfast that is a little more fun. Vans waffles with a little syrup, chia seeds and half a banana. I really do love this breakfast, I should make it more!

Seriously, I have not been cooking at all. This must've been so monumental Bryson had to document it.

We have been doing Bountiful baskets so this was one of our hauls. It's great getting so much snack fruit/veggies for the kids!

I had a full load at school this semester so I ate lunch at the school pretty much every day. Normally, if I was feeling better, I would make a lunch. But, again, morning sickness hit me hard so I would pick up fruit and pretzels/hummus or a salad.

I have been indulging in coffee, I didn't cut it out my last pregnancy either. I try to limit it to a couple of times a week. I always have a latte. No vanilla, no hazelnut. Just a latte with 1%.

If I get bored of the toast I will have egg whites, in our Bountiful Basket we got some pomegranates so I indulged in those! Does anyone else not like to eat the seeds? I just bite the juice out then spit out the seeds.

One of my VERY favorite breakfasts is a scramble. In this one I have a  full roasted green chile (skinned and seeded), asparagus and onion. I sauté the veggies while I mix 1 egg and 2 egg whites with 2 tbs milk then just poor the egg/milk mixture on top and cook until the eggs are cooked.

How adorable is this shot of OJ?! I normally fresh juice mine but when I don't have time in the mornings I like Simply Orange with High Pulp.

Selfie because I loveeeee my scarf.

Another latte :)

This is a dinner Bryson and I tag-teamed. Turkey burger cooked on the grill with a salad w/Marie's Pesto dressing. I made baked squash with it. Just cut the squash in half and de-seed, pole holes in the top of the squash and lay cut side down on a foil lined baking sheet and bake. That's it!

More toast. Does this drive anyone else crazy? When I put jelly on it is perfectly symmetrical and even to the edges. This is how Bryson brings me toast and jelly...

When I am over water and lattes and just want something carbonated, I normally lean towards these Something Natural drinks. They are delicious!

and at night I always have something sweet or salty. My favorite right now is the Simply Salted popcorn. It doesn't have any butter on it so it's not as bad as some other options.

and then, of course, there is the Christmas parties. This was my spread from last Sunday and I obviously indulged ;)
