Four Days Without Littles

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

This weekend the hubby and I made the 8 hour drive to vivaaaa Las Vegas! for his sisters wedding. We decided to make a little vacay out of it and went to shows and dinners that we normally wouldn't think of with the kids. Mainly though, we just enjoyed each other company.

Through the drive we listened to (almost) the full audio book of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. The drive pretty much flew by and we hardly talked but it was lovely.

While walking around we found this amazing little piece called Corner Cakes. It's in the MGM right near the place where you buy your feminine products if you forget them. Ladies know what I mean. They are the cutest little cakes, pies, cupcakes and custards that look like mini of whatever they are.

Of course the decision was easy, Get a cute little cake, or don't. I couldn't resist and I got a little German Chocolate Cake and I was overly happy when they handed it to me in the cutest little box. I wanted to take one home to Lo but let's be honest I would've eaten it on the way home.

We didn't want to pay to take pictures with the people so while we were stopped we were crazy sneaky, some would say ninja like, and took pictures to show Lo. I was so excited about the minions!

The night we arrived we had reservations at Alize which was absolutely phenomenal. There really is no other way to describe it. The view was amazing we could order off an iPad (highlight maybe?) and the service was impeccable and the food was gorgeous. Not only that but I am not sure if I have ever tasted anything that good- excluding pizza on an empty-stomach-one-bottle-of-five-dollar-wine-in kind of night.

We dressed up and ohmigoodness my hubby is a stunner. I wanted to go out just to show him off afterwards but I went out to the bachelorette party and Bryson gambled in the hotel. He's not super into the bachelor party scene.

Look at the moon how amazing it was that night

The morning after the wedding we went to brunch with the new Mr. & Mrs. Metzgers and their sweet baby. That play time with little Myles made me miss my babies SO much but I loved that nephew time that I don't get very much and I know Bryson loved it also.

We were able to sit right on the strip and hang out in the beautiful weather that I miss a ridiculous amount already. I am a fair weathered person. My poor husband is from Wyoming and LOVES the cold and I am from New Mexico and anything under 80 is cold so the whole way home we were alternating between the heater and ac.

The last night we were there we went to Mystere (it was my third time but my husbands first) and it was just as amazing the third time as it was the first. It's amazing what dedicated and fearless people can do if they are willing to put in the work.

After the show we went to dinner at Come Ca and again it was amazing. The food was perfect. We stepped out of our comfort zone and ordered things we were not comfortable with at all and it was totally worth it. Not to mention being wined and dined by the love of my life with view. Ugh, so perf.

Whilst we were there I was still in fact pumping to save all that liquid gold for my sweet boy. Which means in my monster of a beautiful purse I had a breast pump and saved it all in the fridge at Mandalay Bay. And woe is life, when we left I forgot it ALL in fridge. Four days of milk wasted.

boo.

Right before we left Bryson just had to stop at Canagie and get a sandwich.
Ohmigoodness.
These sandwiches are just meat and bread and it was perfect for Brysons last hooraa before coming home.

The wedding was absolutely beautiful and it was such an honor to be included in such a big day in my SIL's life. We love you guys!

We did a TON more than I could even include on this post. We ate at amazing restaurants, saw breath-taking shows. shopped at stunning shops, danced at crazy beautiful clubs and just had an overall amazing time with just the two of us. Next time though I have some amazing plans that include the kiddos.

XOXO

Thank you :) I was so bummed that we left it all and I realized it as we were leaving the hotel but hey were shooting Modern Family in the lobby and it was a mad house and we'd already turned in our keys :(

Thanks :) I love them too but they are SO uncomfortable. I actually took them off in the show because they even hurt when you sit down

Love the pictures! It looks like you & your husband had a great time together! Sometimes a little alone time is just what you need! :)

It was exactly what we needed. You know when you get into a funk where everything is just annoying? We definitely needed some alone time
